The WPS Loquitor Electronic Speech Trainer, models 115 and 250, are speech training devices designed to give immediate feedback for students with speech impediments. Using a two simple rocker switches, you can record a target sound for the student to play back. The student can then record and immediately play back his or her attempt to promounce the sound. The Loquitor is digitized, so it does not require tape recorders or cassettes, yet it provides human voice clarity and is small and portable. Because the sound and the students response are recorded on two different channels, students can repeatedly compare his or her performance to the target sound with the inconvenience of rewinding. The sounds remain in memory until they are recorded over. Model 115 can be used with a tape recorder which will allow students to work independently on repiticious pronunciation exercises. Model 250 does not work with a tape recorder, but rather serves as a communication aid. One to four personal messages can be recorded and played back using switches on the device or remote switches connected to its external jack. The Loquitor comes with two input jacks for external microphones, plug in AC adapter, two jacks for external headsets with separate volume controls, headset jack with its own volume control to offer amplified side tone for the hearing imapired. DIMENSIONS: 9.5 x 6.5 x 2 inches. WEIGHT: 2.5 pounds. OPTIONS: Model 115 can be purchased with a Sony Tape Recorder for $565.00. Rechargeable battery pack and carrying case are also available.
