DISCONTINUED. (Verified 11/2008) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. VTI 6000 VGA Video Magnifier is a desktop video magnifier designed for use by individuals with low vision. This computer-linked video magnifier system allows the user to view magnified printed material simultaneously with the computer image on a VGA monitor in either horizontal or vertical split screen mode. It is also compatible with XGA and SVGA monitors. Since many computer applications have icons, up-down arrows, and tool bars around the work area that may be covered up in horizontal or vertical split screen mode, this video magnifier has a Picture in Picture (PIP) mode that creates a resizable window that can be placed anywhere on the monitor screen to provide access to these application tools. The magnification range is two to 120 times original size on a 14-inch display and three to 145 times on a 17-inch display. The camera's auto-focus can be switched to manual focus. Selectable color provides a variety of color combinations. Horizontal and vertical line markers allow the user to define a specific line of text or area on the screen. Horizontal and vertical window shading covers the material above and below the area being viewed with see-through shading. Preferred settings can be recorded in four memory presets, including one start-up preset. A foot switch allows the user to change from full screen VGA to full screen magnified image.
