Tell A Phone is a voice input dialer program designed for use by individuals with upper extremity or fine motor disabilities or who are blind or have low vision. The program allows the user to pick up any telephone receiver on a line, listen for a dial tone, and then speak a name to cause that number to be dialed. The program automatically recognizes any name in its voice dialing directory. Names can be entered directly or imported from a personal computer phone book, including ACT!, Outlook, Goldmine, Organizer, or SprintPCS. The system uses existing telephones and wiring connected to a personal computer. It works on analog phone lines, including lines supporting DSL. The program can recognize multiple voices, with no training needed. The program can track and record numbers called from each phone in a call log. The program also includes Caller ID support, and its eDial support can preload changing numbers such as movie listings. Program updates and new versions can be obtained automatically online.
