TEK Robotic Mobilization Device is a standing wheelchair that allows users with lower extremity or physical disabilities to navigate through various environments not typically accessible by wheelchair. The user can board the TEK Robotic Mobilization Device securely from a seated position such as a wheelchair or mat. The suspension system contains a gas spring, which balances the weight of the user so that standing up requires a gentle pull. Tek Robotic Mobilization Device holds the user in an upright position and allows users to interact with the environment by sitting, standing, reaching, and adjusting their height to match their environmental situation (i.e. eating lunch at a standing table). This position makes it possible for the user to reach with free hands and perform many daily tasks comfortably in environments that are typically not set up for people with physical disabilities.
