Switchit! Arcade Adventure is a control switch training program designed for use by children with upper extremity and multiple disabilities. Users also build eye-hand coordination as they help Ziko the robot accomplish a series of tasks. Five levels of play allow students to steer a helicopter to rescue Ziko from a tropical island, reload his fuel tank, fly off in his rocket, and maneuver through a series of springs and levers. Users not only click switches to move Ziko, they must also be sensitive to timing. This program may be accessed with a mouse, a single switch, a touch screen, or with Intellikeys (see separate entry). COMPATIBILITY: The hybrid CD-ROM offers versions for use on Macintosh and IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: The Macintosh version requires a 68040 processor or a Power PC, a CD-ROM drive, and 8 to 16 megabytes (MB) RAM. The IBM version requires Windows 95/98, 32 MB RAM, CD-ROM drive, SVGA monitor, sound card, and speakers.
