The Ski Pad is an emergency evacuation system designed for use with individuals with mobility disabilities or spinal cord injury. Made of a rectangular foam pad covered by a vinyl, the unit has a handle above the user's head and a handle below the user's feet. It has two safety restraints at the torso and the shins to secure the user to the pad, and a pocket at the bottom in which the user places his or her feet. The safety restraints fasten with standard seat belt buckles. Once the user is secured on the mat, one or more rescuers can use the handles to move the user out of danger by lifting or dragging. The vinyl covering material enables a person to be moved easily over many types of surfaces - indoors or outdoors. The pad will absorb some concussions caused by dragging the pad over irregular surfaces, such as stairs, or uneven ground. The Ski Pad folds into a storage bag that can be mounted on a wall. DIMENSIONS (LxWxH): 78 x 27 x 2 inches; 28 x 28 x 6 inches when stored. CAPACITY: 350 pounds. COLOR: Red with black straps and handles.
