The Samsung SmartThings Hub is a centralized unit that wirelessly connects compatible smart home devices and allows users to monitor and manage these devices from anywhere using the Samsung SmartThings app (not included, please see separate entry). Plug the hub into a wall outlet, connect the included Ethernet cable to the internet router, and then download the free Samsung SmartThings app to an iOS or Android device. Through the app, the user will be able to personalize his or her settings, monitor all of his connected devices, and control them remotely. There is no limit on how many Samsung SmartThings devices or other compatible smart home devices users can add to the Samsung SmartThings Hub (please note: the hub does not come with any devices; they must be purchased separately). The Samsung SmartThings Hub comes with four AA batteries that can provide ten hours of backup power.
