The Roby Powered Stair Climber is an interior or exterior wheelchair lift designed for use by individuals with mobility disabilities or spinal cord injury. This portable unit transports wheelchair users up or down straight stairways with a maximum angle of 35 degrees or turnback stairways with flat intermediate landings. The lift adapts to most adult or pediatric manual wheelchairs. It can ascend approximately 23 floors fully loaded on a single battery charge. Safety features include a built-in obstruction sensor and a manual emergency device that permits decent in case of a dead battery. The unit's two piece design enables it to be disassembled for transport. An ABS control panel on the steering bar has a battery charge indicator, slope indicator, emergency stop button, and operator key.
