Pronto! QS is a braille notetaker and voice output electronic organizer designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. The Pronto! QS includes a standard 69-key QWERTY keyboard with tactile markers for entering data and natural sounding speech output. It can be used as a notebook, calendar with diary, voice recorder, address and phone book, clock, standard and scientific calculator, altitude and compass information, and an MP3 player. It has one built-in microphone and two built-in stereo loudspeakers. Pronto! QS can be connected to a Braille display via Bluetooth or USB. The device features WLAN with WPA2 – IEEE 802.11g, SDHC card slot, four function keys and a navistick to quick-launch applications. The device has 128 megabytes (MB) random access memory (RAM), 64 MB flash memory, and it includes a 4-gigabye (GB) SDHC card. The USB Master socket allows the user to connect USB memory sticks, iPods and other devices as an additional external storage device with a capacity of more than 4 GBs. The device can be used to receive and send SMS messages, read and write emails, navigate the Internet, and chat via MSN Messenger. The device can support English and German speech output. Data can be transferred from a personal computer (PC) or reading machine such as BAUM Poet Compact, Poet Compact 2+, or Poet BE (see separate entries) using Microsoft ActiveSync. The top of the housing is made of aluminum, and the body is made of plastic. A protective slip-cover for traveling is included.
