The Prodigy Autocode Blood Glucose Monitoring System is a voice output glucose analyzer designed for use by individuals with diabetes who are blind or have low vision. This system provides blood glucose test results and verbal prompts in either English or Spanish. Glucose test results are provided using as little as 0.6 microliters of blood, which can be taken from the arms, thighs, or hands, as well as the fingertips. Along with voice output, this analyzer also has a large liquid crystal display (LCD) visual display. Results are identified as low (less than 70 mg/dl), normal (70 to 120 mg/dl), or high (over 120 mg/dl), and a ketone warning is given for results over 240 mg/dl. Up to 450 measurement results can be stored in memory with date and time, and dowloaded to a personal computer to help in tracking changes in glucose level over time. Data is retained during battery replacement. An averaging function can give average test results for 7, 14, 21, 28, 60, or 90 days. Other features include auto system function check, auto ambient temperature compensation, a delete memory function, auto turn-off after three minutes of inactivity, and auto low power indication. POWER: Uses two triple-A alkaline batteries. DIMENSIONS (HxLxW): 45 x 16 x 75 millimeters. The LCD display measures 44.5 x 34.5 millimeters. WEIGHT: 48.5 grams.
