PowerLinc II is an evironmental control unit designed for use by individuals with severe physical disabilities and spinal cord injury. When attached to a personal computer serial port, this unit can be used to send and receive X10 commands, including advanced extended codes, using ASCII. It can also be used to send X10 commands using the original TW523 protocol, but the TW523 protocol cannot receive extended X10 codes. The unit also provides 12 volts direct current (DC) power for applications. Applications include creating a custom control panel to send X10 commands from the PC and to view X10 activity; controlling and monitoring X10 devices over the Internet; and programming SwitchLinc, KeypadLinc, LampLinc, and ToggleLinc wall switches from the PC. The system comes with a PowerLinc II plug-in interface, a transceiver manufactured by WGL, an antenna, a mounting bracket, a coaxial cable, an RS232 cable, an RJ-11 cable, a splitter jack, and instructions.
