The Midland WR11 Alarm Clock Weather Alert Radio is a Public Weather Alert Radio and Alarm Clock in one designed for individuals with neurological disabilities who may experience moments of confusion and feeling scared or in danger of some kind to put them at ease and keep them informed. It alerts the user of over 60 kinds of weather hazards and emergencies. In addition to important weather announcements, this public weather alert radio will also receive other emergency announcements including Biological Hazard Warnings, Fire Warnings, and Child Abduction Emergencies (Amber Alerts). This weather alert system is recommended by the Department of Homeland Security for emergency preparedness and is meant to keep users informed.
The Midland WR11 Alarm Clock Weather Alert Radio can be connected to the following optional accessories which are not included, but which may be purchased separately: Strobe (for visual alerts), Vibrator (for vibrating alerts), or Transmitter. It uses AC power or plugs into a standard electrical outlet but is equipped with an emergency battery power back-up that uses 4 AA alkaline batteries. Alarm clock with snooze and an LCD with backlight display and it gives its user the choice of waking to local weather, AM/FM radio or Buzz alarm.
