DISCONTINUED. (Verified 04/2012) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. GW Sense Navigation, also called Sense Nav, is a voice output mobility program designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This program runs on the Voice Sense personal digital assistant (see separate entry) and uses map data together with a global positioning system (GPS) receiver to provide information on points of interest such as restaurants, hotels, and hospitals. The user can add custom entries such as the user's home, place of work, or friend's home. The program can create vehicle or pedestrian routes and save them for future use or for sharing. The program comes with an authorization key to enable it to operate on the Voice Sense; a preloaded eight-gigabyte CF card with maps for either the US or Canada; a Bluetooth GPS receiver; a GPS receiver carrying case; a CD with documentation and tutorials; and online access to downloadable map and point-of-interest data. POWER: Uses a rechargeable battery and comes with a USB and alternating current (AC) power charger.
