Fred 911 is an emergency alert system designed for use by seniors or individuals with balance, mobility, or neurological disabilities or who are at risk for medical emergencies. The system includes a base unit that connects to a telephone line and a remote control that can be worn on a keychain or as a pendant. In case of an emergency, the user presses a button on the remote and the base unit automatically calls 911. The remote pendant can activate the base unit by radio from up to 150 feet away. An amplified speaker and microphone in the base unit enable the user to talk with 911 up to 60 feet from the base unit. The system can be set for use as a silent alarm. INSTALLATION: The system is installed by plugging it into a telephone outlet. POWER: Base unit uses power from the telephone; the remote control uses long-life watch batteries.
