The Bread Cutter Board is a modified cutting board designed to help individuals who are blind or have low vision or those with arthritis or fine motor disabilities slice bread safely and evenly. Made from heavy-duty white plastic, the Bread Cutter Board features raised guides on the left- and right-hand sides (these hold the loaf of bread in place), a rotating bar (determines how thick each slice will be), and a slotted slicing guide along the top (guides the knife down for each slice). The rotating bar, which is marked with raised dots, can be adjusted to set the desired thickness of each slice - one dot signifies the thinnest slice and four dots represent the thickest slice.
To use the Bread Cutter Board, place the loaf of bread in between the two raised guides, set the rotating bar to the desired thickness, and fit a knife into the slotted slicing guide. Then slide the bread forward and press down on the knife to slice off a piece of bread. This slicing tool can be used to cut bread, fruits (e.g., tomatoes), vegetables (e.g., carrots), cheese, and sandwich meat. The Bread Cutter Board is also dishwasher safe.
