The APT-5 Hi-Lo Active Passive Digital Trainer is a continuous passive motion device and progressive resistance arm and leg exerciser designed for use by seniors and individuals with neurological or physical disabilities. Fully digital, this unit enables the user to control speed, resistance, amount of spins and load levels. A remote control facilitates operation for users with limited movement abilities. The unit is mounted on an adjustable stand so it can be positioned for either arm or leg exercise. It can be positioned low near the floor for lower body exercises or raised up to table top height for upper body workouts. An assortment of accessories are available to enable users with a variety of physical disabilities to utilize the all of the functions of the APT-5. The unit's passive mode has five speeds for passive upper and lower limb exercise to improve circulation and muscle tone, increase range of motion, and decrease atrophy, spasms and swelling. An auto reverse feature is designed to assist with the release of seized muscles. In its passive mode, this trainer can be used by individuals with spinal cord injury, spina bifida, cerebrovascular incidence (CVA), cerebral palsy, myopathies, or congenital muscular dystrophy. The active mode of the ATP-5 Hi-Lo has five levels of resistance for active upper and lower limb exercise, with a height- and length-adjustable crank-arm. In the active mode, the APT-5 Hi-Lo can be used to improve blood circulation, strength, endurance, and muscle tone, learn the motor skills associated with cycling, and activate rhythmic locomotion patterns.
