DISCONTINUED. (Verified 4/2000) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. The AdaPoint, model ADAPT, is a mouthstick cursor control interface designed for use with the Adap2U keyboard emulator system (see separate entry) for individuals who have little or no upper limb control. This input pointing device may be activated with the mouth or chin and provides mouse-like control of the computer cursor by using a small range of controllable head motion. The unit sits on a desk or may be mounted to an extension arm in front of a computer; it is not tethered to the user. The control movement area is 1.5 inches square, but may be increased with a control stick extension. A Felix driver is supplied (and necessary when using this device without the Adap2U). The system has a serial output. POWER: AC adapter, supplied. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: No software driver is necessary when used with the Adap2U, however, a Microsoft mouse-compatible driver must be used when using the Adap2U mouse passthrough mode with mouse-ready applications software.
