DISCONTINUED. (Verified 9/2011) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. The Accubuilt APD (All Purpose Door) Van is a van conversion designed for use by individuals who use wheelchairs. Features include a 32-inch fiberglass raised roof with tubular steel roll cage; Braun or Ricon fully-automatic ADA lift; Sure-Lok 30/20 wheelchair tie-downs with lap and shoulder belts; foldaway vinyl jump seats with arm rests, lap seat belts, and harnesses for up to three passengers. Several floor plan options are available. The chassis is a Ford E-350HD extended length cargo van with standard trim, 5.4 or 4.6 liter V-8 engine, 4-speed automatic transmission, five all-season steel-belted radial tires, and power-assisted steering with tilt-adjustable steering column. OPTIONS: Q-Straint restraint system (see separate entry); ambulance-style door holding brackets; customized step wells and running boards; wheelchair storage rack; stretcher mount; and an ADA interlock to prevent the van from moving unless the lift is properly secured. DIMENSIONS: The van is 111 inches high x 19.5 feet long. The interior floor-to-ceiling height is 74 inches, the average width is 70 inches from side-wall to side-wall and 52 inches from wheelwell to wheelwell. The rear door is 48 inches high x 54 inches wide and the side door is 67 inches high x 26 inches wide. Minimum step height for the passenger door is 9 inches. CAPACITY: 8,600 pounds. WARRANTY: 12-month or 25,000-mile limited warranty on converted chassis.
