DISCONTINUED. (Verified 4/2001) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. Able-Phone 110 (which replaces the Able-Phone 100) is a portable cordless phone with headset receiver. The headset contains an earpiece and a microphone. This headset is connected to a small portable remote unit that the user carries. This remote unit communicates by radio waves with a base unit, from up to 750 feet away, either indoors or outdoors. The base unit is connected to the household power and to the telephone line. The user can talk and listen simultaneously, as on an ordinary phone. The user can place, receive, and terminate calls from the remote unit by whistling into the microphone. The remote has a keypad with sensitive non-slip rubber keys, allowing control of the phone by persons who use mouthsticks. Any single switch can also be connected and used to operate the Able-Phone 110. An auto-dial feature for reaching an operator for emergency help is included. The Able-Phone 110 also has a dial pad and button for on/off operation. POWER: Rechargeable battery. DIMENSIONS: 5.25 x 3.25 x 1 inches. WEIGHT: 14 ounces.
