DISCONTINUED. (Verified 9/1999) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. The abiliKey is an electronic keyless door lock designed for use by individuals with limited manual dexterity and strength. The device is designed to provide access to a single door and may be worn on a wristwatch, bracelet, or neck chain, or attached to a wheelchair, walker, or prosthesis. The hat-shaped abiliKey is made of high-impact, tamper resistant plastic that resists heat and cold and has smooth, rounded edges. To operate the device, the user slides the abiliKey into a contact unit on the exterior door frame. The control panel verifies the factory-programmed access code and commands the electric strike (not included) to open the door. The programmable control panel allows keys to be added or deleted as needed and the unlock time to be set between one and 60 seconds. The complete system includes two keys, a programmable control panel, and a contact module. The system allows keys to be networked with other keys, contact modules, control panels, powered door operators, and personal computer (PC) based access systems. OPTIONS: Additional keys, a second door plug-on adaptor, magnetic door contacts, request-to-exit switch, and a long distance module. DIMENSIONS (WxH): The abiliKey is .5 x 3/8 inches. WEIGHT: Less than one ounce. COLOR: The abiliKey is bright yellow. WARRANTY: One year.
